Acquiring driver's permits and licenses for those under 18: DMV will no longer require homeschool students to submit a form from the ESD stating they are in compliance with the homeschool law. Beginning October 5, 2016, a parent or guardian will be able to certify that the applicant is enrolled in school. For homeschoolers, that means the parent will certify that the child is "being taught by a private teacher, legal guardian or parent in compliance with ORS 339.035." In other words, the ESD has been notified that the student is homeschooling, and the student has been tested in grades 3, 5, 8 and 10. A form from the ESD must be provided only in cases where the individual is seeking to reinstate driving privileges following suspension of those privileges because the student withdrew from school to homeschool after a driver's permit or license was issued. https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2015R1/Downloads/MeasureDocument/HB2465/Enrolled (Section 2)
