The Douglas County Homeschool Co-op has some openings! The fall term for 2013-2014 begins on Sept. 5th, 2013, and the subject is "All About Oregon": discussing geography, history, agriculture, Industries, native species and the future of Oregon. All the topics will be made age-appropriate for each class. We are also planning a few field trips into the community this term. We are planning on doing the field trips on the second week of the month. In prior co op’s, we have taken this week off to go skating. The field trips will be optional but encouraged, since they will fit in with what we are teaching. We are excited about this term! We currently have four classes:
Classes are separated by reading and writing skill levels, not by ages. The co-op begins at 12:45 p.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. on Thursdays at Hucrest Community Church of God on Witherspoon Avenue in Roseburg. ALL PARENTS MUST TAKE TURNS TEACHING. The planning for classes will take place in the next few weeks by each team of teachers. On the first week of class, we will have an informational meeting before we begin classes. The cost is $15.00 for one child, $25.00 for two children, and $35.00 for three or more children in the same family. If you are interested in becoming involved in the co-op this term, or would like more information, please contact Jodi Smith by Friday Aug. 16th. We have limited spots available, and families will be accepted until full.
