The Roseburg Beacon is sponsoring an essay contest for the students who attended the movie by Dinesh D’Souza: "America", at the Roseburg Cinema on November 20, 2014. This essay contest is only for Douglas County, Oregon homeschoolers who were in attendance that day. The contest will be judged separately for two groups: students through 8th grade, and High School students grades 9-12. There will be prizes awarded for first and second place for each age group. High School homeschooled students: First place: *$100 *America DVD signed by Dinesh D’Souza *Roseburg Cinema movie pass for two *Winning essay to be published in Roseburg Beacon and forwarded to D’Souza and other media outlets. Second Place: *$25.00 *Framed Movie Poster signed by Dinesh D’Souza *Roseburg Cinema Movie pass for two Grade School homeschooled students: First Place: *$50 *America DVD signed by Dinesh D’Souza *Roseburg Cinema movie pass for two *Winning essay to be published in Roseburg Beacon and forwarded to D’Souza and other media outlets Second Place: *Framed Movie Poster signed by Dinesh D’Souza *Roseburg Cinema Movie pass for two. The subject of the essay can consist of anything the student learned from the movie, or can address the movie’s sub-title: "Imagine a World Without Her". The length for students 8th Grade and under shall be between 300-400 words. The length for High School students must be between 700- 800 words. The deadline for submission shall be no later than December 31, 2014.
