The Douglas Education Service District offers inexpensive photocopying and print shop work, including:
This is open to the general public, so anyone may go in and have print shop work done there.
If you are planning to photocopy materials, page by page, one at a time, the Douglas ESD doesn't really have the employees to do that. If you need 25-5000 copies of one page, or some pages, that is the kind of the print work that they do best. They have excellent laminating machines, and because some of us have had poor laminating work done at the local office supply stores in Roseburg, some of us prefer to use the ESD for laminating, drilling holes through stacks of flash cards, binding, etc.
IMPORTANT: When you take your project in to the ESD, they will fill out a print shop work request form. They'll ask you which school you are from. If you don't feel comfortable mentioning that you are a homeschooler, just let them know that you heard that they will do private orders for the general public, and this is a private order. You shouldn't need to add any other information other than your name, your phone number (so they may call you when the order is ready to pick up), and the date on which you would like the project finished.
***Keep in mind that neither the Douglas ESD or Staples - or you - can legally photocopy consumable, one-person-only workbooks unless the workbook specifically gives permission for families to copy for use within their own household. The ESD is very careful not to copy copyrighted works unless permission has been granted by the author.
Option #1: you may take your work into the Douglas ESD to be printed, etc.

Open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(Closed on Fridays during the summer)
Option #2: print off the 2013-2014 ESD Print Shop Price List and take it with you to Staples. As of 2013-2014, Staples continues to honor the prices from the ESD Print Shop Price List, but you must bring it in with you to Staples each time you begin to do photocopying or having Staples do any work for you. I recommend printing the form and placing it in a plastic page protector so it stays clean and neat all year long. If you have books that you are making just a few copies of some of the pages, your best bet is to take the price list (below) with you to Staples and have them price match it for you before you begin using their copy machines.
NOTE: Office Depot has chosen to NOT honor the ESD Print Shop Price List.
The price list you see below is still in effect for the 2013-2014 school year:
- black & white, and color copying
- business cards
- collating
- machine cutting and folding
- machine drilling holes (like for flashcards placed on rings)
- comb binding and coil binding
- laminating
- postcards
- photo printing
- calendars
- and much more
